Cannabis Chocolate Recipe
Prep: 10 min · Set: 30 min · Makes: 24 squares
Cannabis chocolate is one of the easiest and most accurate edibles to make — the fat in chocolate naturally binds THC, and molded squares give you precise, equal-sized doses every time.
Calculate mg Per Square
Calculate your oil potency first, then set portions to 24 to get exact mg per chocolate square.

- 200g (7 oz) dark, milk, or white chocolate, chopped or chips
- 2 tbsp cannabis-infused coconut oil or MCT oil
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
- Toppings: nuts, dried fruit, or sea salt flakes (optional)
Instructions
- 1.Melt chocolate: Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each. Do not overheat — remove from heat when nearly melted and stir until smooth.
- 2.Add cannabis oil: Allow chocolate to cool to 90°F (32°C). Stir in cannabis-infused oil until fully incorporated. Adding oil to hot chocolate (above 95°F) can degrade THC.
- 3.Pour into mold: Pour into silicone chocolate molds or a lined baking tray. Tap gently to remove air bubbles. Add toppings if desired.
- 4.Set: Refrigerate 30–60 minutes until fully set. Score or break into equal pieces. Label with mg per piece.
Temperature tip: Never add cannabis oil to chocolate above 200°F. Let chocolate cool to ~90°F before combining to preserve THC potency.
FAQ
Can I add cannabis oil directly to melted chocolate?
Yes, but wait for chocolate to cool to around 90°F (32°C) before stirring in cannabis oil. High heat (above 200°F) can degrade THC, and adding cold oil to hot chocolate can cause seizing. Let both reach a similar temperature before combining.
How do I make cannabis chocolate bars with consistent dosing?
The key is using silicone molds with equal-sized cavities and knowing your cannabis oil potency before mixing. Use the BatchCraft calculator to find mg per teaspoon of your infused oil, then calculate how much total THC goes into the batch and divide by number of pieces.
Does chocolate affect how edibles hit?
Dark chocolate contains compounds including theobromine and anandamide that may mildly enhance cannabis effects. The fat in chocolate also aids THC absorption. Many users report cannabis chocolate feels smoother and faster-acting than other edibles, though the effect difference is subtle.
